When it comes to thinking about the real object, it already has its own complicate structure not just its own form but function as well. Also, even a small object, it has its strong force to occupy the space. So, rather than changing the structure like distorting the shape or using it in a different way, I prefer to use it in a correct way in a given condition. I just link the thing with other thing to make sense. In this show, a cup is a cup. sign is a sign. a lighting is a lighting.
However, painting is different. Except minimal condition like frame and picture plane, the structure is almost in a zero point before the painter constructs something. Painter decides the every things for building up the structure; function of the painting, selection of the image, color, composition, the way she/he plays with the picture plane, concept, meaning and so on. So, after using images for the planned system and finishing painting, I link the painting, like a normal object, with other things in the space.
